Unlike many similar organisations in Europe and the USA, orchestras in this country do not benefit from government subsidy. The YMSO is no exception. We receive no public funding of any sort and are therefore entirely dependent on the generosity of individuals, charitable foundations and corporate sponsors.

We are currently indebted to the following individuals and organisations for financial support:

Business, Trust and Foundation support is an essential ingredient to the YMSO’s success. Over the years the Orchestra has had fruitful relations with Marks and Spencer, Barclays, the Foundation for Sport and the Arts, Po-Shing Woo Charitable Trust, Unilever UK plc and Esmee Fairbairn Charitable Trust. Our unique Unilever relationship, which lasted over twenty years, was amongst the longest of any arts business partnerships.
